NHS Salary Bands - 2021 to 2022 - NHS Banding

There is no official news on a pay increase for the year 2021 - 2022. The recent announcement states that England NHS staff has been offered a 1% of pay increase, whereas Scotland NHS staff has been offered a 4% of pay raise.

NHS pay rise England 2021 - 2022

The post below describes various NHS pay bands along with NHS pay points and salary for each band.

NHS pay points for Band 1 

  • NHS band 1 with pay points 2 with an experience of less than a year will receive £18,005.
  • Band 1 with 3 NHS pay points and holding experience of more than a year will receive £18,005. 

NHS pay points for Band 2

  • NHS band 2 with pay points 2 with an experience of less than a year will earn £18,005 annually. 
  • Band 2 with pay points 3 with an experience of 1 to 2 years will receive £18,005. 
  • NHS band 2 with pay points of 4 with experience of 2 to 3 years will receive £19,337
  • All the other NHS pay points that are 5, 6, 7, and 8 of Band 2 holding experience up to two years and above will receive £19,337.

NHS pay points for Band 3

  • NHS band 3 for pay points of 6 and 7 holding experience up to 2 years will earn £19,737 annually 
  • NHS band 3 with 8 to 12 NHS pay points with experience above 2 years will receive £21,142.

NHS pay points for Band 4

  • NHS pay points from 11 to 13 for band 4 with experience up to 3 years will receive £21,892. 
  • NHS band 4 with pay points of 14 to 17 above 3 years will receive £24,157. 

NHS pay points for Band 5

  • NHS pay points from 16 to 17 for band 5 with experience up to 2 years will receive £24,907. 

  • NHS band 5 with pay points of 18 to 19 with experience from 2 years and up to 4 years will receive £26,970.

  • Pay points from 20 to 21 for NHS pay band 5 having experience from 4 years and up to 6 years will receive £27,416. 
  • The remaining pay points from 22 to 23 for NHS pay band 5 having experience above 6 years will receive £30,615. 

NHS pay points for Band 6

  • For NHS pay points from 21 to 22 of band 6 with experience up to 2 years will receive £31,365 of income. 
  • For NHS pay band 6 from pay points of 23 to 25 with an experience above 2 years and up to 5 years will receive £33,176 pay. 
  • Pay points from 26 to 27 for pay band 6 with an experience of 5 years and up to 7 will receive £33,779. 
  • Pay band 6 with remaining pay points of 28 to 29 with an experience of above 7 years will receive £37,890. 

NHS pay points for Band 7

  • For NHS pay band 7 with pay points from 26 to 27 with experience up to 2 years will receive £37,890. 
  • From the NHS pay point from 28 to 30 with experience of above 2 years and up to 5 years, The NHS pay will be £40,894.
  • Form pay points from 31 to 32 with experience above 5 years and up to 7 years will receive £41,723. 
  • The remaining pay bands from 33 to 34 of Band 7 pay with experience above 5 years will receive £44,503.
